NSS Unit of GDC Marh in collaboration with CDPO Marh organized Rangoli/ Debate Competition and Pledge Ceremony on 10-09-2024. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, Principal of the college in presence of Nodal Officers SVEEP CDPO Marh Smt. Shalini Gupta, SVEEP Coordinator Committee Smt. Sabita Sharma, Anu Punam, Dr. Pooja, Poonam. The Tehsildar Marh Sh. R.K Rathore was the guest. The Principal of the college in his address welcomed the guests and apprised the students about the importance of SVEEP programme. The resource person CDPO Marh Smt. Shalini Gupta explained in detail about purpose of the SVEEP programme and appreciated the efforts and participation of college students in various competitions. She also encouraged the students to spread the significance of voting to people of their locality. Rangoli and debate competition was organized in the campus. NSS Volunteers made eye catching Rangoli’s depicting significance of polling for a democratic country through their artistic abilities and creativity. Team 3rd (Riya Sharma, Aarti Devi) and Team 4th (Shruti Sharma, Palak saini, Raveena Kousar and Sohani Choudhary) stood first in the competition while second position was bagged by Team 2nd ( Kajal Puri, Janvi Sharma and Pooja Devi) and Team 1st ( Richa Manhas, Sangeeta Devi and Roshini Devi) stood 3rd. The competition was judged by Prof. Asha Kumari and Dr. Sheetal Sharma. About 15 students participated in the debate competition and expressed their views in an effective manner. Gorav kumar bagged the first position while second position was bagged by Khushi choudhary and Pooja, Abhishek got third position. Dr. Ramdayal (HOD Mathematics) conducted the proceedings of programme. Prof. Anita (HOD English) and Dr. Ashu Jolly (HOD Education) judged the competition. The faculty and staff members present on the occasion were Mr. Ravi Kumar (PTI), Dr. Priya Sharma (HOD Economics), Prof. Surbhi Gupta (HOD Commerce), Mohd. Yaqoob, Mr. Mohit Kalotra and Mr. Rachhpal Lal. The event was coordinated by Mr. Sushian Kumar (student of semester 5th), Mr. Atinder Kumar (student of semester 3rd), Mr. Sandeep Mottan (student of semester 3rd), Mr. Boby Kumar Baitha (student of semester 5th), Ketan Kumar (student of semester 3rd), Rohit Kumar (student of semester 3rd) .certificates were also distributed. Awareness Programme on Digital SecurityGDC Marh organized two daya awareness programme on Digital Security initiative under the flagship of NSS Unit of College. The Programme started with welcome address of Principal GDC Marh Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul in which he elaborated the need of the hour to make aware the students about the threats and challenges of cyber issues in the digital world. The programme formally started with the lecture of the resource person Dr. Rahul Sharma, HOD Computer Applications. He explained in detail about the Digital footprints and highlighted the important agenda covering various aspects like identity theft, online job frauds, banking frauds, online transaction frauds. He explained the students and faculty about the secure way of swiping credit/debit cards, security against fake banking emails, managing passwords, two factor authentication (2FA) ,keeping updates of security system and discussed the threats of Cyber Bullying, cyber stalking, vishing due to which many youngster come in the threats of being harassed. He awared the students about the national cyber helpline number to report any financial online fraud along with Cyber Dost: An initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India aimed at spreading cyber security awareness. On day two hands on training in computer lab was done where various online initiative by government were shown to students. The students also discussed their queries and shown keen interest in the program. The program ended with vote of thanks by NSS PO Prof. Sachin Bhagat. Dr. Ashu Jolly, Prof. Asha Kumari, Dr. Sheetal Sharma, Prof Ravi Kumar, Dr. Priya Sharma were also presented in the program




Swachhata Pakhwada from 1 to 15 August was organized at GDC Marh under the Guidance of Principal Prof Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul. Various activities such as Awareness lectures , cleanliness drives , rally , Pledge were organised at College Campus by NSS , Scouts and Guide and ECO Club.

Two days Awareness programme on various Development Schemes for Youth in Budget 2024 in Collaboration with NSS unit of the college and Department of Economics was held at GDC Marh w.e.f 30 to 31 July 2024. The programme started with keynote address of Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul in which he Enlighten the participants about the various aspects of the Union Budget 2024. Dr. Priya Sharma HOD Economics briefly explained about the budget in which she highlighted the various development schemes for youth. The Budget purpose various schemes like Internship and MSME support for middle class. Moreover 1 Crore youth will get internship opportunity for 12 months in top 500 hundreds companies operating in India for next 5 years. The budget purposes 5 schemes with outlay of 20 lakh skill and jobs for youth.Centre Government will implement 3 schemes for employment linked incentives based on EPFO. The students also discussed their queries and also shown keen interest in the programme. The programme was coordinated by NSS PO Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Imtiaz Shahid. Prof. Anita, Prof. Madhavi, Prof. Ram Dayal, Prof, Ashu Jolly, Prof. Asha kumari, Prof. Anjana chib, Prof. Balwinder Saini and Mr. Ravi Kumar were present.




Date: 29/07/2024 Essay Writing Competition on Voter Awareness was held at GDC Marh The essay writing competition on Voter Awareness held on 29 July 2024 at GDC Marh, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rakesh Koul GDC Marh was a successful event that aimed to raise awareness about the significance of voting and inspire students to become active participants in the democratic process. A total of 21 students from various semester participated in the competition and submitted essays that showcased their critical thinking and creativity. The Principal praised the participants for their thought-provoking essays, highlighting the importance of voting in a democracy. After careful evaluation, Gourav kumar from sem 3rd was awarded the first prize for the essay titled "Voter Education and Awareness ", followed by Ketan kumar from sem 3rd and Khushi Choudhary sem 3rd as the second and third prize winners, respectively. Kashish and Atinder kumar were given the certificate of Merit. The competition was organized by Electoral Literacy Club, NSS, Dept. of Political Science and Dept. of Physical Education and was well-received by the students and faculty members. The event fostered a deeper understanding of the democratic process among students and encouraged them to become responsible citizens. The college plans to continue organizing such events to promote civic engagement and critical thinking among its students. The whole event was coordinated by NSS PO Prof. Sachin Bhagat and Mr. Ravi Kumar (PTI). The event was judged by Prof. Ram Dayal, Prof. Asha Kumari and Prof. Sachin Bhagat.




Date: 16.07.2024 REPORT Plantation drive under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' Program organized by GDC Marh. With the aim of spreading awareness about forest conservation and saving the environment, "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign program, was started under the guidance Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul by NSS unit of GDC Marh. On this occasion, the Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul said that trees and plants are our life savers. Also, abundance of trees and plants helps in keeping human life healthy. He further said that the way of present luxury lifestyle has harmed the environment, if it is not taken care of in time, then the entire human community can face a deep crisis. Untimely rains, high temperatures are some such signs, which are alerting us. In such a situation, the most important thing is plantation. Along with this, complete care is also necessary till it becomes a tree. He said that awareness is also important. Awareness is also being spread through street plays in the surrounding areas through the NSS unit of the college. NSS officer Sachin Kumar Bhagat said that a tree really plays the role of a mother. The program Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam is not only awareness but also a feeling, which connects the common man directly to nature. He also made people aware of the importance of trees. On this occasion, along with the volunteers of NSS, staffs were also present. Volunteers also planted trees at their homes and vicinity along with their mother. Dated: 26-06-2024 REPORTOBSERVANCE OF INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFEKING International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking observed at GDC, Marh under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was observed by NSS Unit and Road Safety club of Govt. Degree College, Marh along with Bharat Scout and guide unit of college under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul Principal GDC Marh. On 24-06-2023, a slogan wrting/ Play Cards/ Posters competition was organized and students displayed placards to raise awareness about harmful effects of Drug Abuse and illegal trade of Drugs. Gourav sharma of sem 2nd delivered in details about the issue.An interactive session was held with the participants in which students shared their views with Principal of the college. Principal Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul who also explained that Drug abuse has become the most common thing these days and many youth are destroying their lives by getting addicted to drugs. It’s very important to sensitize our youth on the subject of drug abuse. They are ruining the lives of our youth and putting their future in darkness. The abuse of drugs is making their lives vulnerable and prone to destruction. Therefore, it becomes very important to raise awareness about it amongst our youth and prevent them from succumbing to it. Teaching, Non-teaching staff and students also took a pledge Against Drug Abuse. Prof. Sachin BhagatNSS PO conducted all the proceedings.Among other Dr. Balvinder Saini ,Prof. Asha kumari from Bharat Scout and guide were also present in the program.




Dated 20 june 2024, Live telecast of "Sashkat Yuva Smridhh Jammu and Kashmir" an initiative by Honourable Prime Minister Sh Narendera Modi , was organized under the guidance of Prof Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul at GDC MARH. Sh Ravi Kumar Physical Director was the the Nodal officer of the Programme. Programme was attended by faculty , staff and Students. NSS volunteers also helped in organizing the event.




Date: 17/05/2024 Govt. Degree College Marh observed World Hypertension Day NSS Unit of Govt. Degree College Marh organised a two day camp on ‘World Hypertension Day’ aimed at communicating the importance of ill effects of Hypertension and to provide information on prevention, detection and treatment. The theme for this important world wide activity is ‘Measure your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control it, Live Longer’. The programme was held under the guidance of Principal of the college Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, while addressing the students he stressed that high blood pressure i.e., Hypertention is the main risk factor to develop cardiovascular disease and it can be prevented and managed by checking blood pressure regularly and through treatment. He emphasised the need to have minimum use of cell phones and develop healthy lifestyle. Prof Imtiaz Shahid (HOD Zoology) gave a detailed view of Hypertension, its types and causes of Hypertension such as genetic, sedentary life style, unhealthy food habits, diabetes and thyroid imbalance and preventive measures. Faculty members appreciated and thanked Principal of the college for procuring such useful health related equipments for the benefit of all. About 60 students participated in the camp and their blood pressures were monitored, oxygen levels and body temperatures were recorded. Faculty members and staff also got their BP, temperature and sugar tested. The measured health record of present students was found to be by and large normal. Majority of students practically learned how to use BP machine, Sugar Machine, IR thermometer, oximeter. The whole activity was managed by the college students including, Sanjana, Gourav Kumar, Khushi Choudhary, Ketan Kumarand Atinder of 2nd semester.. The programme was organised by Prof. Anjana Chib, Prof Sachin kumar Bhagat (NSS PO). Prof. Madhvi Parasher, Dr. Ram Dayal, Prof. Shakun Sharma, Mr. Ravi Kumar and Ms. Ruchika graced the occasion. Gorav Kumar student of 2nd semester of Government Degree College Marh attended a Capacity Building Programme on Youth Employability Skills organized at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Regional Centre, Chandigarh from 05 March 2024 to 08 March 2024 under the guidance of Prof Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul Principal GDC Marh and trained by NSS PO Prof Sachin Kumar Bhagat.

He is the first NSS volunteer of GDC Marh who participated in the National Adventure Camp at ABVIMAS (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali) W. e. f. 21/11/2023 to 30/11/2023 and National integration camp at Vishwa Bharti P. G. College Sikar, Rajasthan W. e. f. 01/03/2024 to 07/03/2024 under the Guidance of Principal Prof Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul and trained by NSS PO Prof Sachin Bhagat.




Date: 21-03-2024 GDC Marh Organised (on Navroz) SVEEP PorgrammeGDC Marh organized (on Nauroz, 21-03-2024) Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral participation awareness programme under the directions of SDM Marh Sh. Manu Hansa. The Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Koul interacted with the students and awared them that SVEEP which is a flagship programme of Election Commission of India for Voter’s education , spreading voter awareness and promoting voters literacy in India. The vision of SVEEP is to enlighten, enable and empower every citizen to register as a voter and cast his/her vote at every election in a informed and ethical manner, universal and enlightened participation of citizens in election and democracy. The objectives (2022-25) of SVEEP include purifying the electoral roll of every polling booth, bridging gender gap in enrollment and turnout, ensuring inclusion of all non- voters/ marginalized sections through targeted interventions, technological solutions and policy change, addressing urban and youth apathy in electoral participation, turning around all low turnout constituencies and polling stations. Election commission of Indian offers voters for Indian citizens who have attained the age of 18 on the qualifying dates (1st Jan, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October) of the year of revision of electoral roll. Form 6 can be filled online at “National Voters Service Portal” (www.voterportal.eci.gov.in). ECI publications like SVEEP manual, Voter Guide, Leap of Faith, SVEEP Strategy IV and BLO e-Patrika are also available online on portal. Students of the college displayed various play cards and charts on the theme of election and electoral participation.The SDM Marh Sh. Manu Hansa and SVEEP Nodal Officer Smt. Date: 01-03-2024 GDC Marh Organised Two Days Awareness Programme on Drug De AddictionKeeping in view the increasing drug addiction rate among youth and its ill effects on the individual health which disrupts their family and the whole society NSS, GDC Marh organised two days awareness programme in collaboration with JK Police Headquarter, Jammu and SPVLG Foundation counsellor Ms. Meenakshi Sumbria under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul (Principal GDC Marh). The programme was conducted by NSS Programme Officer Prof Sachin Kumar Bhagat. The chief guest for the 1st day programme was Sh. Rajinder Kumar Katoch, SSP Staff officer, DIG office Jammu. The guest for honour for the day was Sh. Brijesh Sharma, SP Rural. The other police officials present were Dy.S.P Sh. Jatinder Singh, from DIG office Jammu and SDPO Domana Jenab Mudasir. During the inaugural ceremony the key note address was presented by worthy principal of the college Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul who emphasised on the importance such awareness programmes and role of youth in reducing drug addiction in the society. There was group Discussion on three themes Drug Abuse and Crime Co-Relation, Drug abuse and its ill impacts on body and family and remedies and suggestion on controlling drug usage in the society. There were 10 participants who presented their views on all the themes (1. Drug addiction and its co-relation with crime. 2. Drug addiction and its ill effects on health and family. 3. Remedies and suggestions to reduce drug addiction) in the three rounds. All the guests also made the students aware about usage of illegal drugs which causes severe damage to the future of the nation and importance of reducing drug demand from the society. They also spoke on the causes, remedies and laws related to the same. The prize winner for the first day group discussion were Mr Gourav Kumar from 2nd semester who was awarded with Rs 2500, 2nd prize winner was Vivek Sharma from 6th semester who was awarded with Rs 1500, and the 3rd prize winner was Prerna from 4th semester who was awarded with Rs 1000. The Jury Members For the first day progamme were Prof Anita Kumari(HOD English), Dr. Sheetal Devi (HOD Dogri) and Ms. Tanu Sharma (HOD Hindi). On the second Day The special Guest was Ms. Meenakshi Sumbria, Drug de-addiction counsellor from SPVLG foundation affiliated with health department J&K. The main objective of her awareness programme was ways to reduce drug demand, problems of drug addiction ,preventive action, treatment and rehabilitation of addicts, dissemination of information and public awareness importance under the Umbrella of “NIJAATH” a programme specially designed on prevention and treatment on tobacco and drug addiction. .The 2 days event was conducted by Dr. Ashu Jolly (HOD Education), Dr. Ram Dayal (HOD Mathematics) and Dr. Balwinder Saini (HOD Chemistry). During Valedictory function the vote of thanks was presented by Prof Asha Kumari (HOD Geography). A total of 35 students along with student Presidium attended and participated in the event. NSS Special Winter Camp Report 12 feb to 19 feb 24.
The Seven Days NSS Special Winter Camp started on 12 Feb 2024 in GDC Marh under the aegis of Higher Education Department. In this 7 days Special Winter Camp, various activities like Cleanliness Drive, Plantation Drive, Socio Economic Survey, Importance of Life Skills, Cultural Activities, Solid Waste Management, Campus Bird Count, Wall Painting, Physical and Fun Games and talks were conducted.


DAY – 01 (12-02-2024)
The seven days camp was Inagurated by Worthy Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul. In the first session and awareness Lecture was delivered by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul and in the 2nd session Prof. Madhavi Prasher the convener of NSS committee briefed volunteers about “communities and NSS”. In the 3rd session volunteers under took Cleanliness Drive at college campus and in village Panchayat Dhateryal. In the last session an activity on life skills was conducted by Prof. Sachin kumar in which volunteers participated Enthusiastically.

DAY – 02 (13-02-2024)
The Day started with warming up session by Ravi kumar in which he delivered the message that how Warming up helps to activate the body and primes the connections between our nerves and muscles, which improve the efficiency of movement. In the Second Session, Plantation Drive and Shramdaan was conducted in the College premises as well as at the adopted Village Dhateryal by the Volunteers along with the Program Officer for the beautification of the surroundings. All the volunteers started Plantation Drive in College Campus and at village Dhateryal. All Plants were guarded by tree guards. All volunteers watered the Plants. An Activity based Lecture was conducted by Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat on the Topic “Different people have different point of views for same situations”.

DAY – 03 (14-02-2024)
Day started with the lecture by Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat on Cleanliness. All NSS volunteers with college students and Faculty members celebrated the special occasion Saraswati Vandana. Then all NSS volunteers painted the walls of College campus and some volunteers drawn various paintings on walls of village Dhateryal. In the 2nd session an awareness lecture on “Road Safety” followed with an Awareness Rally in the adopted Village Dhateryal which was lead by Mr. Ravi Kumar, Head of Physical Education Dept. of GDC Marh. Principal, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul also had an Interactive Talk with the Volunteers regarding the “Road Safety”. Efforts of NSS volunteers were much appreciated by Principal and Sarpanch.

DAY – 04 (15-02-2024)
All the volunteers along with Prof. Sachin kumar Bhagat, Mr. Ravi Kumar, Prof. Asha Kumari, Prof. Vishal Manhas and Dr. Ram Dayal conducted Socio Economic Survey at adopted village Dhateryal Marh. Then all NSS volunteers were given the survey Forms regarding “Health Issues” & “Enrollment of new voters” of the adopted village Dhateryal. Survey was done by all NSS volunteers in the village Dhateryal covering 40 households. All NSS volunteers also conducted a cleanliness drive in Panchayat Ghar.

DAY – 05 (16-02-2024)
“Campus Bird Count” a special programme was conducted by NSS volunteers. A photo exhibition and awareness programme was organized. This programme was inaugurated by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul Principal GDC Marh. Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat, Convener Bird Club also conducted a Bird talk with NSS Volunteers. The Chief Guest of this programme was Prof. Parmil kumar from University of Jammu.

DAY – 06 (17-02-2024)
NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Marh conducted multiple activities in the College Campus for the Camp. Today was the 4th day of the camp. Prof. Sachin Bhagat, Program Officer, NSS Unit of GDC Marh supervised and coordinated all the activities. The day started with the Session on Physical Fitness and Wellness in which Volunteers did Different Physical Activities. An awareness lecture on “Importance of Fundamental Duties” was delivered by Prof. Sachin Bhagat, Head, Dept. of Poltical Science, GDC Marh. He stressed on how they define the moral obligations of all citizens to help in the promotion of the spirit of patriotism and to uphold the unity of India. In the Second Session, NSS Volunteers did a Cleanliness Drive and Shramdaan in the adopted Village Dhateryal. After that, NSS Volunteers made Posters on the Topic “Clean India”, “Environmental Pollution” and “Unity in India”. In the Last Session NSS Volunteers performed Nukad Natak on “Gender Equality”.

Special College Student Voters Awareness and Registration program at GDC MARH on 28 Nov 23 under the guidance of Prof Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul Principal GDC Marh. He awared the students of the college on importance of casting vote in Democracy. All the BLO of Marh block along with Election Cell officials were also present,who on spot registered 10 new voters. Abhay Singh along with other students of Semester 1 actively participated in the said program. Dr Balwinder Saini told students about the importance of enrollment of young voters in democracy and informed students about various required documents for voter registration. Prof. Sachin Kumar presented formal vote of thanks to all the digniteries . On 21/11/23 Awareness Programme on ‘Women Empowerment’ organised at GDC Marh IQAC, GDC Marh in collaboration with Northern News, India (NNI) under the patronage of our worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, organized an interactive session on Women Empowerment on 21.11.2023. Principal of the college said that Media is the most important pillar of our society and organization of awareness programmes at all levels through this institution is of utmost inmportance. Kiran Sharma, Reporter of the channel interacted with faculty and students on different dimensions of Women empowerment. Students of BA 1st and 3rd semester viz Kapil kumar , Manish kumar ,Varun kumar , Aman verma , Kashish , Sneha gupta , Harsha kharoo , Komal verma ,Mishu devi, Nerakshi Sharma discussed and raised their queries on different gender issues. The programme was organised by Dr. Balwinder Saini, Prof. Sachin Kumar and coordinated by Prof.Asha, Dr.Sheetal, Dr.Shakun and Dr.Ruchika.


Under the theme my constitution and my pride awareness program on the life of Dr BR Ambedkar was organised today on 17th of November at GDC Marh .The faculty members and students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.The program started by the welcome address by Prof. Dr. R.K koul the chief guest of programme.He explained in length and breadth about the life history of Dr.B.R Ambedkar.He also enlightened the audience with his life experiences and his personal spiritual growth as an individual. Many students presented their views on Dr B R Ambedkar' s life. Prof Sachin, Dr Ruchika and Physical Director, Ravi Kumar were jury members. Sanjana, Prerna and Khushi got Ist, 2nd and 3rd position. Prof Asha staged proceedings of the programme. Prof Ram Dayal presented vote of thanks.

Dated: 31-10-2023 Government Degree College Marh celebrated Sadar Vallabh Bhai Patel Jayanti to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, NSS unit in collaboration with Eco Club of the Govt. Degree Marh celebrated National Unity Day. The programme was inaugurated by Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul. In his Keynote address the Principal exhorted upon the students that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was firm about the need for Indian states to remain united. He had to undertake the difficult task of uniting the princely kingdoms with the Indian Union after independence. His statesmanship and diplomatic abilities were crucial in persuading the princely states to accede to the Indian Union, so safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity. A plethora of activites w.e.f from 28th to 31st Oct 2023. On first day a movie showcasing the prime events of his life and achievements of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was shown to students and was highly appreciated by students as an inspiration. On Second day NSS Volunters, Sanjana Devi of 5th Sem, Prerna Balgotra of 3rd sem, Diksha Devi of B.Sc. 3rd sem and Shivani of Vth sem gave speech on accomplishments of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel to sem I students. On 3rd day Run for Unity and pledge ceremony was also organized. 50 NSS volunteers participated in the ceremony. All the faculty and staff members of the college graced the occasion. The Programme was organized and coordinated by NSS officer Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat and Eco club convener Ms. Anjana Chib. GDC Marh observed Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations on the theme ‘Truth and Non-Violence’ The Cultural Committee along with Literary Committee of the college organized a number of activities related to Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations o the theme ‘Truth and Non-Violence’ within the college campus and in the village Dhateryal under the supreme guidance of the college Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul. The basic theme for organizing bonanza of activities was to create awareness and inculcating Gandhian humanity, brotherhood and secularism among the students and local people in the vicinity of the college. On 19 September, singing competition, collage making and easy writing competition were organized for the student so all semesters where they participated with lots of enthusiasm. The theme for the same was ‘Gandhian philosophy on Non-Violence’. On 20th Sept 2023 a good number of student s did book reading of the books, “My Experiment with Truth” and autobiography of Gandhi ji and “All Men are Brothers”. A complete book on life and thoughts of Mahatama Gandhi as told in his own words. This enhanced the knowledge and added a new philosophy in the life of students. On 21st Sept. 30 students of all streams of the college visited to a public park in the village Dhateryal where they carried on Swacchta Aabhiyaan and spreaded the message of hygienic environment by reciting a number of slogans on the theme On 22nd Sept 2023, an online quiz on ‘Gandhian Philosophy of life’ was organized and sent to the whats app group of the college students as well as the students of other colleges and were motivated to participate actilvely.

Gandhi Jayanti and Two days Swachhata Abhiyan (Swachhta hi Sewa, 2023) at GDC Marh Students, faculty and staff of Govt. Degree College Marh conducted two days cleanliness drive and celebrated International day of Non-violence on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s 154th Birth anniversary. The two days event began on 1st October 2023, cleanliness drives in the form of an awareness rally which started from GDC Marh and culminated at the adopted village Dhateryal in which the volunteers from NSS, students, faculty and staff participated. A pledge on Swachhata Abhiyan was taken by the students, teachers, panch, sarpanch and civil society members of the adopted village Dhateryal. Cleanliness drive was carried out in the college premises, streets, grounds, nearby regions of canal falling under the adopted village. The day one of the programme under the supervision of Principal Dr. Rakesh kumar koul, was coordinated by Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat (NSS PO), Prof. Ram Dayal. Day two, on 2nd October of the programme began with the pledge on non violence as a mark tribute on 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji. There was a debate activity on biography and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi ji among the students of the college. In addition a short motivational movie on autobiography of Bapu ji was shown to the students of the college. The students again carried out a cleanliness drive in the corridors, classrooms, laboratories etc. The day two of the programme was coordinated by Dr Balwinder Saini (BSAG leader), Prof. Asha Kumari (BSAG leader), Prof. Ram Dayal (HOD Mathematics) , Mr Ravi Kumar (PTI).
